4. Average hydrophilicity
From average hydrophilicity value, we can predict the peptide solubility in water.
Average Hydrophilicity Value is 2~3: Peptide have a good solubility in water, it is also easy to absorb the moisture from the air, To solve this problem, ChinaPeptides has built a GMP grade packing room, in which the moisture of the air is strictly controlled, all the packing works are finished in this room, and a desiccant is also been put in the peptide express package.
Average Hydrophilicity Value is 0~2: Generally, peptide with this Hydrophilicity grade always have a good solubility in water. No cosolvent needed.
Average Hydrophilicity Value is 0: This kind of peptide has a poor solubility in water, there are many ways to increase the peptide solubility. 1, adjusting the PH. 2, Apply Ultrasonic 3, adjusting the temperature(≤30℃ ), 4,Apply cosolvent(such as DMSO, DMF), 5, using 10% acetic acid to dissolve the alkaline peptide, 10% ammonium acid carbonate to dissolve the acidic peptide.
Average Hydrophilicity Value is -2~0: Peptide has a poor solubility in water, you can apply the 5 methods above to dissolve your peptide, or you can add hydrophilic amino acids into the peptide sequence.
Average Hydrophilicity Value is -2~-3: Peptide in this hydrophilicity grade always has a poor solubility in water. It is also hard to purify this kind of peptide, for this reason, it’s very tough to have a good peptide purity. In this case, we usually advise our customer redesigning the peptide sequence or insert some hydrophilic amino acids into the peptide sequence.
