Name Amyloid beta-Protein (25-35)
Code [131602-53-4]
The alias Amyloid beta-Protein (25-35)
Sequence (single letter abbreviation) GSNKGAIIGLM
Sequence (three-letter abbreviation) H-Gly-Ser-Asn-Lys-Gly-Ala-Ile-Ile-Gly-Leu-Met-OH (trifluoroacetate salt)
A basic description This peptide was isolated from the insoluble core of Alzheimer's disease (AD) amyloid plaque. It is the fragment (61-95) of NACP or alpha-synuclein and forms amyloid fibrils via a nucleation-dependent polymerization mechanism. Accumulation of NAC aggregates in the synapse might be responsible for the neurodegeneration in AD and in the prion diseases.
