Basic description
|
The osteogenic growth peptide OGP (ALKRQGRTLYGFGG) is a key factor in the mechanism of the systemic osteogenic response to local bone marrow injury. OGP level is increased in the serum in vivo during osteogenic reactions in the form of OGP-OGP binding protein complex. When it is applied to pre-osteoblast in vitro, OGP promotes bone cell proliferation and differentiation, which is indicated by increasing ALP Alkaline phosphatase activity. When it is administered in vivo, OGP stimulates osteogenesis and hematopoiesis.
